Apple Crisp

This recipe is great for boosting failing appetites. Another recipe with a rich, strong scent, excellent for sneaking in additional protein via protein powders. I wouldn't use more than a cup of the protein, and add it to the "dry" ingredients to allow for mixing without show - and reduce the dry ingredients to half, or the cake will overflow its pan. But then - I always add too many apples anyway (have I mentioned that I love apples?), so a larger pan is "a good thing".

Planning tip: Serve this one warm, with ice cream
Ingredients

4 large apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1/3 cup flour or oat flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup (half a stick) butter

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Put apples in a buttered pie plate or baking dish.
  3. Mix dry ingredients.
  4. Cut butter into mixture with a pastry blender.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly over apples and bake for 30 minutes or until top is golden brown.
